Pearland Prancers
The Prancers are a precision drill team and are referred to as
the Sweethearts of the South, which was established in 1973. The Prancers perform at athletic events, compete in dance competitions,
and put on a Spring Show.
Directors
Ms. Lopez attended and graduated from Pearland High School, where she was a Prancer, Lyrical, and Kick Company member. After high school, Ms. Lopez attended Texas State University, where she was a three-year member of the Texas State University Strutters. Ms. Lopez graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Ms. Lopez was previously the Director of the Conroe High School Golden Girls from 2018-2021 before being named the Director of the Pearland High School Prancers in 2022.
Macy Lopez
Ms. Lyons attended Pearland High School and is a proud Pearland Prancer alum. During Prancers she served as both Junior Lieutenant and Colonel. Furthering her education and dance career, Ms. Lyons attended Stephen F. Austin State University and graduated with a B.S. in Mass Communication and a minor in Dance Team Coaching. Ms. Lyons also was a member of the SFA dance team where she won a national championship in 2022. Ms. Lyons also works for Ascension Dance Company as a Senior Dance Staff Member and is the co-owner of Khila and Laci Choreography.
